Questions
How does the link stay private?
The note is encrypted with a random AES-256-GCM key in your browser. Both the ciphertext and the key are put after the # in the link. Browsers never send the #fragment to a server, so no server — including ours — ever sees the note or the key.
Who can read the note?
Anyone who has the full link. Send it over a channel you trust, and remember that chat apps may keep the link in their history or generate previews.
Is the note stored anywhere?
No. There is no database: the note lives entirely inside the link. That also means it cannot be deleted or expired remotely.
How long can a note be?
Links over a few thousand characters may be truncated by some apps. Keep notes short — passwords, keys, addresses.
