Questions
UUID v4 or v7?
v4 is fully random. v7 starts with a millisecond timestamp, so IDs sort by creation time — much better for database primary keys.
What is a ULID?
A 26-character, time-sortable ID using Crockford Base32. Like UUID v7, it is ordered by creation time but shorter and URL-friendly.
Are these secure?
They use crypto.getRandomValues, the browser’s cryptographically secure generator.
